Description
There are many reasons for driving, whether it be commuting to and from work, making a sales call, delivering a product or service or just picking up lunch. Driving may seem routine but can be very dangerous. Every five seconds an automobile crash occurs, every ten seconds an injury occurs from a crash and every twelve minutes someone dies from an automobile crash. Most accidents occur during the work day. Transportation accidents are the leading cause of on-the-job deaths. According to the U.S. Department of Labor and Statistics, 2,493 “fatal occupational injuries” were transportation incidents in 2005.
According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, as an employer, you are responsible for meeting all applicable requirements and procedures of the regulations.
